Hi, hello, how ya doing.

Yes it's been over a year and yes that really sucks.  It's my own damned fault for being kinda afraid to put my fingers to the keyboard.

A long while back I did a post that I wasn't going to self censor, and I meant it.  However I felt like I still couldn't come up with the words or the right words to put on 'paper'.  But, in light of everything that has happened in the past year in society, in my own life, and the most recent bullshit shooting,  I feel like I should say something.

I mean what the fuck have we done to ourselves?  Seriously. It's not he government, it's not religion, it's not our schools or prisons. It's us.

It's us as the people of the U.S.   It's all of our faults to let the hate and insecurities settle so far into our own hearts and minds.  It is US that have let these terrible acts of violence and hate happen, it is us that have created a nation where you need three jobs to support two people in a shitty run down apartment.  IT IS US.

And we can't accept that.

We can't.

We want to blame corporations, our government and everyone but ourselves.  We want to be triggered and create our own little bubbles.  We want to recreate feminism, and create groups like Black lives matter.  When ALL lives matter. WE want our own utopias, where everyone else has to conform to OUR utopia, the way we want it, fuck free your thoughts and opinions.

What we need is something else entirely.  We need to mind our own god-damned business.  We need to support each other without asking questions and expecting something in return.

By doing this we can come together and fix the issues that really are hurting us.  Because WE CONTROL THE GOVERNMENT.  WE CONTROL THE BUSINESSES.   We together can fix the schools, by raising our children to respect teachers and instilling a willingness to learn, we can fix the schools by showing the government that we want our teachers paid and our classrooms stocked.

WE can do this.  I can't, you can't but WE CAN.

We can take our lives back from the fear we live in everyday. WE can do it.

But I don't think we won't, although that won't stop me from trying.

And this is how you can too:

DON'T spread propaganda. Don't push one agenda over another, yes the tragedy at Orlando was awful but by pushing for gun control or by pushing for gays to be 'cured' or abolished, you will make the problem worse.  It isn't the fact people can arm themselves. It is the hate that the people feel that makes them want to use that armament-.  HELP THOSE PEOPLE.

BE RESPECTFUL.  Cheesesjus we've been taught this since we were children, yet look at the hate.  LOOK AT IT.  LOOK AT THE WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH LOOK AT THE SHOOTINGS LOOK AT THE TRANS PEOPLE BEING BE BEATEN, AND THE STRAIGHT PEOPLE TOO FOR USING THE FUCKING BATHROOM.  LOOK AT IT.  This is the problem.  It's us. It's us unable to mind our own damned business. It's us unable to look at a person and say, "that's a person."  Not look a person and think "OMG IT'S DIFFERENT KILL IT OR BE AFRAID OF IT".   Because that is what we do.  And that's what's wrong.

And I don't care if you don't like what I'm saying. That it's our fault, just as much as it is mine for not helping, for taking sides to defending the weak.  Instead of defending we should be helping to make everyone equal. EVERYONE.  EQUAL. It doesn't matter if you identify as a cat, if you have human dna and genomes then you should be treated just like me, just like that guy down the street.

We should be ASKING for help. NOT DEMANDING compliance. WE should not place our personal beliefs over someone else's because of life style choices and demand that they conform to us or even the other way around.

GET THE HUNGRY OFF THE STREET and they we can debate theology. ALLOW ALL PERSONS EQUAL RIGHTS IN THE EYES OF THE GOVERNMENT, then we can debate racism. MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE WITHOUT WORKING TO DEATH, then we can debate sexism.

And I know you're thinking, well debating sexism, racism and theology will fix those problems. NO NO IT WON'T.  INSTEAD it allows people to be persecuted and hunted.  It opens the door for shootings. NO MORE DEBATES.

IF WE ARE PEOPLE WE ARE EQUAL.

Boss Fights in Video Games.

Yeah, so I just read a very 'intresting' article over at PC Gamer where they talked about boss fights in our favorite pass time, and how that very idea could be antiquated.

I personally think that no boss fights are not antiquated, and are a very real mechanic to almost every game. Note I said almost. Bosses are your goal, a real, tangible (you know what I mean in video games) goal that you strive to get to- whether its for the highest score, emotional attachments or straight up the thrill of the hunt. You want that boss, you need that boss and most stories demand that boss.

If you know even the basics of writing a semi-coherent story you know that there must be five things: setting, character, plot, theme and conflict.  The setting, character and plot are pretty self explanatory, the theme usually ties it all together, and the conflict can come from many different places, including from inside the main character.  But that doesn't stop the conflict from needing to be resolved.  Meaning some kind of struggle or work has to be done to get closure. Hence boss fights.  Now I made that super simple.  I mean, SUPER simple just to give you an idea of how and why boss fights are essential.

I believe that not all bosses are created equal, or even fairly.  Some are just cheap and gimmicky which are not fun (boss fights that are mobs- quantity of enemies does not equate to difficulty) but others, the ones that take planning, finesse, the culmination of your skills and time you put into the game, those fights are the reason I game.  Like the Dragons in Dragon Age Inquisition, all of the bosses in Bastion and Transistor, the bosses I've beat so far in Vindictus, Ruby Weapon, all the colossi in Shadow of the Colossus, the 'things' in Tower of Pandora and the list goes on.  These fights, may not always have had direct correlations to the story, but damn did they make me feel great, accomplished and if they are tied to the story then they give me the satisfaction of knowing I kicked the crap outta some boss and saved lives, got the next piece of the puzzle or whatever other goal I needed to achieve.

I truly believe that games are going away. Good RPGS are hard to come by now, and we've gone and segregated countries into their own genres, confusing and driving people away from a good story (see XenoBlade X) just because it's a JRPG and not a straight RPG. *stupid labels*  The new 'breed of gamer' who thinks Candy Crush and only playing online in COD is considered being a 'hardcore gamer' is what is making this topic semi relevant. I've played multi-player arena style shooters and no, there is no boss, no need for one because other humans are your 'bosses', so why would people who stay in that genre think that big boss fights were relevant?  I see that, and it makes me weep.

Discrimination, Really? Confusion More Likely.

I was about to rant about Indiana and what VA is about to do, supposedly do, I mean. Then I really got to reading the RFRA, and I agree with (mostly) with this article here after reading the wiki on AZ here and noting at the bottom of the wiki there is a list of states with 'similar' legislation but two states out right say that the legislation is working on discriminating against lgtb. The rest is to protect the religious populations of their states. I get that in reality protecting religious beliefs makes it possible to protect discrimination because of said beliefs, however is it really being put into play to target these groups of people by those groups of people? Is putting a law or groups of laws up to protect one group really a bad thing?  No, I kinda like my laws protecting me and making me equal.

NOW having said that, I believe that churches should be taxed, and that church and state should be separated, like completely separated. Instead of political people running their mouths saying this is a Christian country and that laws should be based on what every holy story book they happen to be holding. Yet I truly believe that they have the right to hold that story book, to believe in that story book and to follow that story book as long as they do it with out infringing upon my rights to live a normal happy life over here.  You know one where I can have birth control and protect myself from diseases through vaccines and condoms. And wear blended materials, and not be spayed and pick my own clothes, pick my spouse, and eat what ever I want when ever I want, and bathe, and drive, and well you get the point.
Black Cloud

Yet this legislation, which to me, reads, like it's going to protect you for holding your book, and me for not, is being targeted on a group of people who are TAX PAYERS and VOTERS who follow all the other laws and rules and who live normal lives, some even go to church to follow the book too. Doesn't this sound like segregation all over again?  I thought the slaves were freed and there was no more 'lines, doors and water fountains of color' anymore.  Yet here we go, with spouting that business will be allowed to say no to certain groups of peoples just because "reasons" and the law backs them up?
Emancipation Proclamation

No.  This is ass, and it seems forced. The LGTB community is no different that any other group of people, they just happen to identify with each other and they deserve the same rights like every other group of people. Like you know,  church goers, hipsters and the NCAA. They are all people. Color, creed. love life does not matter, what matters is they live without infringing upon other peoples rights, without breaking the most basic laws (no stealing, no killing, wait that's infringing upon other's rights), They are people and to repeat myself, they deserve the same rights.  And thus this is all ass.
Abraham Lincoln: Honesty, Freedom, Equality

What I want to know is why is this all coming to a head so suddenly.  What are our eyes being averted to, if anything?  Are we as a nation, as a people so bored that we are creating drama?  Wait I can actually see that, a nation of drama queens. UGH. Or have we as a nation become so numb to stupid and hate that we have to ratchet up a notch and dig at other little cuts to feel again like some emo kid in the corner?

EDIT

This is coming from scrolling FB really quickly:

Okay so I am really confused, here is the law, and It sounds like to me, it's protecting the religious peoples from the government like I said but does that mean that the religious peoples can go and discriminate against everyone now because they are protected?  Really? Is this what people are afraid of? Because if that is exactly what happens then, we as a nation needs to step back and start really looking at our selves, then look at the rest of the world and realize that we are being ass.

And here is a motivational poster just cuz:

Beating My Head Against A Wall.

Starting with a shameless plug! FIVERR

On to life.

I have been watching science, namely Bill Nye the Science Guy (admit it the theme song popped into your head when you read his name) be squashed by Religitards.

Cosmos was edited Oklahoma, and yet those who edited it scream for equal rights to say what they want to say, to spread their word without being edited. I'm sorry, what? Double standard much?

Wait where was I going with this. ... Oh yeah, I wasn't. There is no where to go.  We, humanity, have a major problem on our hands.  The earth is heating up, which is why Colorado saw snow in MAY.  And if you don't understand why hotter ocean temperatures can make it snow, then you need to go read, I learned that in earth science in like 7th grade.  Public school mind you.  The oceans are becoming full of trash and yet.... Because of people who don't believe any of it are in positions of power NOTHING IS BEING DONE.

Well, actually things are being done, but it takes 100% effort and we aren't even close to that... Because, you know beliefs.  I guess if we all close our eyes and truly believe that everything is A-OKAY and everything is happy then it all will be.  As I sit in 98 degree highs in SPRING, and just opposite of me on the same content, almost on the same longitude where there is just about a foot of snow.

Basically if I have to make a point, if you don't believe in global warming, that's fine, but don't stop those who do because we don't stop you from not believing.  And if you don't believe because you don't know, AND you're too lazy to go look it up, that's okay too.  That's why the scientists get paid the big bucks, to think for you, just let them do their jobs.  Because we don't force you to do it for them.

You know it's called equality and um. Well I thought I had another word, for you know, when you treat people the way you want to be treated.  When you mind your own business when you believe that you are right and they are wrong, but they leave you alone because they believe they are right and you are wrong.  You know, equal treatment.  Free speech, ect ect.

Snowden

I haven't picked sides with the Snowden case.  I have been terrible about the fact that I have't even been following it.  However I know two things:

1: Loose Lips Sink Ships.  Period.

2: People have the right to know what's going on in the world.

And that's where I'm stuck. That's why I haven't said a damned thing, that's why I haven't even really thought about this case, even though what Snowden did was epic, and thought provoking and it makes me think. HOWEVER, what he did is what *he* did.

Not this.  This is bullshit.  How in the living hell would this company even know what the hell he was sending. WHY would they look.   OH but wait Lavabit wouldn't look.  Would they?  They wouldn't invade privacy.  And now they are closed.  And they cannot even talk about why they are closed in detail, because it's illegal.

But the fourth amendment. Anyone?

Sooooooo... Do *You* Self Edit?

I do.  A lot.  I mean a lot a lot.  Like pretty much every I get online I do not jump into Facebook conversations or forums or chats or pretty much ANYTHING for fear of saying something stupid or offensive.  I know what some of you are thinking, because I'm thinking it too, and if you don't well I'm thinking that I shouldn't worry about it.  I should be myself and share and express.  HOWEVER, I don't. I am pretty sure it comes from a deep rooting something, blah, blah, blah, acceptance, blah yadda yadda, Freud.  So, now that I've admitted I have an issue then um. Well.  Um. Yeah. I'm going to try not to do that anymore.

There are things on these world wide webs that make me laugh, like spitting coffee out of my nose laugh.  But I don't want to share it in general because of those few people that may see it and become offended.  Again, like I said.  No more.  This blog is going to become my 'share stuff that may offend people place' and if you don't like it you don't have to read it.  You really don't have to come here at all.  (And by my traffic stats a lot of people don't, so I guess I don't have a lot of things to worry about there.)

ON TO THE SHARING!

Thanks to the comic I read every day it updates (which is Monday - Friday) I have found Garfunkel and Oates.. .... .....  I literally almost dropped my phone when I was watching this video this morning.

Yes. Yes. This is NOT work safe.  Blah blah blah warning.   And offensive and educational.  And thank you again FTF!

Another thing I would like to share, since I'm sharing Youtube goodiness is a playlist I made because I can and because of Improbable Island  it's all about Zombies.

Did you know there were Zombie love songs?  Well now you do.  See this blog IS informative!

My take on Remember Me

Remember Me is a game on the PC, PS3 (I think Xbox, but I pay Microsoft no mind) created and published by Dontnod Entertainment and Capcom.    *Moment of silence.*

I haven't been so disappointed in a game in a while.  Not a long while, but a while.  It could have been great.  It could have been as Thief good, with tech and mind re-mixing and awesome storying and other amazing-ness.  But it wasn't.  It was non of that.   The combat was overly precise, I mean timing perfection needed to pull out combos, combos that you could basically build yourself within a very structured, very limited form.  Combos that are necessary to kill anything, and survive.  Because without the boosts of combos you will not survive. Trust me on this one.

The combos are just like the entire game, limited.  Structured. Linear.

I am, in all honesty, kind of speechless for this one.  The story was fantastic.  The graphics were amazing and I didn't see very many glitches at all.  No game play glitches that I ran into either.  (Unlike Star Trek.)  The combat *looked* smooth, and was fun when I could kill something.   I loved all four times you remix memories too!  Yes, just four times. 4.  When all of the previews and teasers made it seem like that was going to be a big part of the game, not just plot points.

Again, I'm disappointed. I wanted a sneaking game that let you mess with peoples heads, that made you a thief above thieves, because you were stealing and defiling that which is supposed to be untouchable, truly sacred.  Instead it's a linear beat 'em up that is unforgiving and short.  The final boss wasn't challenging at all (running in circles did it for me).  And did I mention it was not a sneaking game?  Your a memory hunter, a thief, yet you stole things three times (maybe four) and didn't have to sneak AT ALL.

I beat it.  I got the t-shirt.  But I did NOT get a new game plus.   No restart with all your stats to pick up all the collectibles you missed.  So I felt no need to do so, it wasn't worth the struggle of the perfect-timing battle system that I couldn't get down.  Even by the end of the game all I could do was the 3 hit combo, and some times the five.   Sometimes, when it let me.

*Sigh*

This is sad.  I wanted to do a full write up, something that told you guys about an amazing game, something that made sense, but it was so disappointing and I was so terribly let down that I really don't have the words.

Which is the exact reason I haven't done a write up on Star Trek the Game.  I haven't even beaten Star Trek yet, and I got it the day it came out.  Glitches make me mad.  Although watching Spock slide across the floor is kinda entertaining.

Huh?

This made me say "WHAT?"

I got this from Upworthy.  The kid has a point, and I agree with every thing he said.  But listen to the TEACHER.  She doesn't care.  I mean really DOES NOT care.  It's like she is reading from a script as she is kicking this kid (who obviously has a thought in his head) out.  I know my teachers would have turned an outbreak like that into a full on discussion with possible ways to fix it.  Or at least most of them.  And packets?! In High school? Every day (like this kid is referring too)?!.  I can think of four classes my entire high school career that relied on packets.  One of them was Spanish.

The teacher needs to be educated or fired.

And testing needs to be abolished with the way it is now.

This is exactly what I've been ranting about though.  People not caring or paying attention because it doesn't concern them.  We need more people like this kid.  Go sign the petition.  I did.  And if I could I would do it twice.

This is all it should take.

Monday, May 6, 2013

I've been working this post over in my head for a while now.  And I have come to the very realization that I am becoming decidedly jaded and well bitter toward the world and that this post is going to be disjointed.

And I can pretty much pin point the moment in which it happened. Bucky Balls.  When they were taken off of the market for lack of parenting here in the US, something inside me broke.  And whatever it was that broke opened my eyes to the very real possibility that we have no real future.  Or at least not one without another massive, messy civil war.

Heilige Schutzengel

But that will never happen.  People are too scared. People are too comfortable and too damned brain washed to want to do anything.  We, and by we I mean the great, grand, wonderful people of the US are one of the most religious nations in the world.  We are one of the least educated.  We are one of the least healthy.  We are one of the fattest.  We are one of the brokest (and yes, I'm dipping into 'third-world' stats here).  We have more prisons than pretty much anyone else.  Yet our crime rate is one of the highest.

We can't even make anything anymore of our own.

Hemp Cutters at Work

People don't know the difference between Hemp and Marijuana.  Nor do most people know that we used to grow hemp for food, for clothing for sustainability   And the government has made it illegal   (In case you were not aware- hemp does NOT get you high, but it does make paper that never fades, or yellows with very little pollution-- see the Declaration of Independence).

Yes that paragraph kinda jumps off topic but so does my brain, a lot.

Oh and the government has also made illegal to use peach pits for medical purposes   This one is great-- peach pits when played with by science shows a very small percentage of actually helping cure cancer... But it's illegal.

And all of this, making things illegal- I think, is why we are so flaming stupid.  We are now to protect our children to the point where children run the house hold.  Whipping a child for starting fires will get you locked up (local story from Newport News, VA- would actually look for it but I am being lazy).  But basically, Child Protective Services says it's OK to let your child start fires because it's wrong to slap them and tell them no, AFTER you've TOLD them no.

In Case of Fire

See the fire starting happens after what I see at work every day.  The kids that STEAL from my store, daddy brings the items back, and then BUYS them something else to make them stop screaming because I took the item back.  This has happened more than once.

Then the school thing.  I live on the East Coast, where most people speak a bit differently, but, you know, I can't understand half of them.  When a person walks up to my counter, picks up a foil wrapped toy (GO-GO Crazy Bones) and asks "Is dis snacks?"  I don't know what to say.  After two days, literally  I figured out exactly what that person said and realized that they asked if that toy was edible.  Um. No.  Here's the kicker that person was about 10, and I find out later is an honor student at his school.

Is dis snacks.

And just last month I had a teacher laugh at me when I offered a spelling type bored game for her and her class.  She informed me that in public schools, at least in the district she works in, spelling tests were not offered any longer and vocabulary tests were all multiple choice.  I felt sick.  I feel sick typing that.

What the hell are we doing?!  I mean really?

As a dreamy eyed teenager I remember thinking that the future held possibilities-- even as a dreamy eyed twenty something, yet, now, not so much.

Those who are excelling, do- but there are so few of them compared to those whom are now 'industry standard'.  And a few can change things, but this is like emptying the ocean with a teaspoon.

Christmas and STUPIDITY

EDIT!!!!

The original post starts below, however I have to add an edit, because I was just sent home early due to stupid people at the mall.  SO it is what? Two days after the day that every one is suppose to show love and kindness to strangers, right?  Well at Patrick Henry Mall there was, for lack of a better term, a riot.  From what I understand the entire mall was closed down due to fighting and guns being drawn Dec. 27 at around 7 pm.  No one was shot, that I heard, but a kiosk worker was trampled, his lip bloodied and a stupid guy was tackled near center court by police for having a fire arm.  There was commotion for about an hour before that due to stupid teenagers running around like two year olds hopped up on coke and pcp, through out the mall, then mall officials closed it down, cops came out of the wood work, and well yeah.

ALL BECAUSE OF STUPID PEOPLE.  I must thank the wonderful police for locking the place down so fast, I felt safe with them there, but they shouldn't have to have been called out there.  Seriously, WTF?  Because of the stupidity of teenagers and ignorant adults a lot of businesses lost money and a lot workers got sent home early, cutting their pay down.  If only people would think about other people instead of themselves and their homies for more than 30 seconds, maybe the world would be a better place.

But I guess, "Wish in one hand...."

My first Christmas, that really wasn't a Christmas.

Yes, I got a lot of gifts from my wonderful friends and family. But not a one on December 25. We didn't do dinner, we didn't even try, I actually slept until 3 PM Christmas day, and you know what? It felt really really really! good. I mean really good.

But the best was the night after, after I got my other half his final gift and we curled up in bed, me in my new fuzzy pjs and my ps vita and him with his 3ds playing games like 8 year olds. It was the most AWESOME geeky night EVAH! I think THAT should be what Christmas should be about.

I found myself actually very, very angry all 'holiday' season.

And it wasn't the holiday that did it. It was the droves of rude, stupid people. Yes, I am calling people stupid. I am not being mean, or derogatory, I am calling it as I see it. Consumerism has taken over our pride as a people, and by that I mean as the human race. We are all about putting ourselves into an early grave from stress of putting ourselves into debt, buying crap we don't need and paying too much for it, because we don't stand up to the corporations and call them out about their over inflated prices and low pay wages to those workers whom make their products. We don't stand up for our pay or our well being when it comes to the things we buy on a daily basis. We, as a nation, are too damned fat and scared to do anything about it.
Or fat and happy, because we have become complacent. Which, in my opinion, complacency breeds stupidity.

Isn't it fun when circular logic actually makes sense?

I will close this very late blog out with saying:

WE SURVIVED. Yup. The world ended, remember, yet we survived. Or did we?

Monday, November 19, 2012

Blow me.

I don't think I can ever, EVER say how much I have grown to hate the so called "Holiday Season." Just typing those two words makes me throw up in my mouth a little.  Wait, hate is such a little word. Loathe doesn't quite cut it either, but I do hope you get the point.

A lot of people, bloggers and soapboxers say this every year, and every year we do survive, however I am going to give you my reasons for wanting the Christmas Holiday to be forcibly removed from society and every persons memories.  To clarify, if you are a religious person and this is a spiritual time for you, that is different; I am only speaking to the consumers that only use this holiday to show off their families like trophies and get all the crap they cannot afford and don't need.  And if you are a consumer out to buy more than your combined yearly salary on useless crap that you will throw out in a month or two but continue to pay for until 2016 then line up to the left for lobotomies.

Okay and now to my reasons.

Remember Halloween?

I mean do you really remember Halloween?  When for the ENTIRE month of October that was all kids could talk about, where ghosts and skeletons would creep into daily life, one day at a time, bring our anticipation to being out after dark and MORE candy than we've seen all year previous?  Do you truly remember the feeling of fall celebration, knowing that the days were getting shorter and there was getting all dressed up to look like a fool, just to get free candy?  Or like some parents I know, free drinks?  Well I do, I remember when Halloween was the MONTH of October, and then November 1 cornucopias and turkeys and Pilgrims were seen for as far as the eye could see.  Family togetherness WAS celebrated and all the TV commercials and store decorations and town and city decorations reminded us to be thankful for your families and our country.  Tell me honestly if you remember the fall decorations that showed off our heritage and reminded us that Turkey day was coming and was, well KINDA IMPORTANT.

I do.

Now, do you know what I see?  F*CKING CHRISTMAS decorations OCTOBER 15!!!! YES I SAID TRUE! What happened to fall?  WHAT HAPPENED TO MY EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF CANDIES AND FOOL ACTING?  AND AND AND AND I WANT MY TURKEY DAY BACK!!!!! I don't want to think about 'black Friday' or holiday shopping or what ever the stupid rejects are coming up with now to get us to spend more money than we have just so we don't feel guilty about coming emptied handed to see family, because you know just seeing your family during a time of year that it is, well, important, isn't officially important anymore.   I guess.  Or at least not with out spending excessive amounts of money first.

EVERY YEAR.  EVERY. YEAR. Christmas has been creeping up the calendar...  I am not kidding.  Mall Santa started in both malls I currently work at on NOVEMBER 8th!!! NOVEMBER 8TH.  One more time.  NOVEMBER 8th!!! The mall didn't even put up fall decorations, or MENTION TURKEY DAY at ALL.  AT. ALL.   Now yes, I am 'yelling' again, but I want to make sure that I am clear.  I saw Christmas trees (which are part of the pagan religions, you know Yule?  It's not even Christian) for sale in Wal*Mart at the beginning of OCTOBER.  Maybe it was even the end of September, I don't shop too much anymore.

Now I guess what I am getting at boils down to this question: What is wrong with us?  I am asking everyone reading this, Google and Facebook people: WHAT IS WRONG WITH US?  Why is this one holiday, more important than the rest?  Why is it all about selling, and sales and buying crap?  Why is it about out shining every one else on the amount of money and crap you spend/accumulate just for ONE DAY.  Not even Chanukah, the holiday that isn't really advertised (unlike Christmas) they give gifts for EIGHT NIGHTS. Why aren't the marketing assmonkeys going after a holiday like that?  I mean really? Wouldn't eight nights of gifts be more financially lucrative than ONE? It's kinda basic math here people?! (And please no Jewish jokes here.)

Now I am ranting, with a bit of personal research to back me up.  I work retail. I talk to consumers and they like talking, a lot. Let me tell you! And the Jewish customers I have always shop smart and make fun of the Christmas shoppers, and the Christmas shoppers are oblivious because they can't see anything other than the shiny, shiny items in their hands that they are paying for with plastic.

You can do this same research even if you don't work retail.  Just go shopping and watch people.  Pretend you are going to buy stuff at stores and actually pay attention to the consumer masses around you.  You will see people walk in, look around as if lost, pick up the item closest to them, give it a cursory glance and buy it.  Not read the back, not ask any one about it. Not even check the price.  I have seen this happen on so many occasions.  Then if you frequent this store, you will see said buyer come back in about a week and return the item, un-opened, and start the process ALL OVER AGAIN. If you don't believe me check it out.

This is why I HATE/LOATHE/DESPISE/DETEST/ABHOR/ABOMINATE/EXECRATE Christmas and all the 'holilday season' is.  It has proven that we, as Americans, as a mass majority are MINDLESS.  We do what the pretty flashy lighted box tells us to do.  We buy and buy and buy and buy until we can't even move underneath our material crap.  Well, I was about to say we're mindless, but I already said that.  Why are we like this?  What the hell are we doing to ourselves?  To our Nation?  To our future?

Wait, did I just answer my own question?  Is it because we are mindless that the spirit of the holidays has be lost to the dollar and martial gain?

Happy Thanksgiving to all whom remember what Thanksgiving really is.  And I hope it's okay I didn't do pictures throughout the entire post.  I tried to search for 'Christmas Holiday Pictures' and I suddenly felt very ill.

OHHH YEAH. One more thing:

Don't even get me started about Christmas Music.  If I hear Jingle Bell Rock one more damned time, I will jam safety scissors in my ears.  OH yeah, and I'm talking this season, you know before Thanksgiving. Also, you are very welcome for having that song now playing in your head :) . Welcome to my hell.

Have You Ever Wondered

..... What goes through some peoples heads at any given time?

I have, actually I am sitting here pondering that exact thing at this exact moment in time.  What makes people think that they can actively and passionately push their thoughts and beliefs down other peoples throats when the other party is nothing but polite and kind and asks to be left alone?  Why do people treat people with disrespect when the other party is doing their best to be respectful?  Why do people abuse power?

And I think that is the one that is really really irking me.  The abuse of power.  Marvel Comics, I think, got it right with the teaching of Uncle Ben to Peter Parker, "With great power comes great responsibility."  That rings so true with anything, from parenting to police officers, political figures to the President, military officials to their lower enlisted on down the line.

Now I understand the theory of gravity, shit rolls down hill.  I get that, but things also go up, given enough force- and some things don't even take a lot of force to go up. Somethings rise on their own and are marveled at by the young and the old.  Somethings that aren't as tangible do the same, like praise, respect and love.  Maybe respect should be at the front of that list, because when a person that is socially below another person respects the one in power, that respect rises on wings of fire and lights the one in power up like the sun.  We've all seen it in history, look back at any person whom has earned a lot of respect, Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Don't you think that they have a glow about them?  Something that makes them shine just a bit brighter than Joe Blow walking down the street?  It's not the fame, it's our respect for them.

But I did say something important there, if you caught it.  These people have power, even though some of them are gone from us, but they EARN respect.  They didn't bask in it.  They didn't or don't abuse their power, they remained equal to those whom felt socially below them, and because of that they EARNED all of our respect, our loyality and most of all our trust.

Now we have people in every walk of life that hold power, hold dominion over other people and they don't seem to remember that they are people just like those they hold power over.  They instead put themselves on this pedestal of  self righteousness and believe themselves to be better than those under them.  Those people we can look upon and see that they don't shine. They don't even try to come close to glowing.  They just sit there and bask in their own power, which makes them dull to look upon.  Uninteresting, and in some cases down right unpleasant to lay our eyes on. Yet a lot of these people hold a lot of power over the rest of us, like those in congress, like nut jobs in our government that believe, more for financial reasons, that science should be taught through biblical glasses and that they should have full control over what we think.

This is wrong.  They don't hold our trust, our loyalty or our respect because they have done nothing to earn it.  They've actually done the opposite but because they hold this power, because money has put them in this position, we just turn our eyes away and let them bask, and ruin our lives.

I am talking big picture stuff here, stuff that a lot of people stay willfully ignorant of, and that is one thing I personal loath, but this also happens on every level of the social stratum.  Not just in politics, but in family life, in the Judaical branch, in work environments. It happens all the way down to the pack mentality of the human condition, where you can see exactly what I am talking about on the play grounds of grade-school children, of bullying in middle and high school.  The teachers playing favorites to those few students they can see out of their forty or fifty kids in a class room.  Of the workers in fast food joints that have one poor soul whom works and works and works but never gets recognized because they are a decent human being and are unwilling to step on other people to advance.  In college for those middle classers whom are neither genius or jock, but do very well in school, do we hear about them?  Those are the ones that deserve to shine with our respect.  Those are the people whom we should be loyal to because they are loyal to us.

Now what happens to those who do everything they need to do and keep getting knocked over by the logs o' crap rolling down the hill?  Nothing, is the first thing that pops into most peoples heads, or they deserve it because they don't move, comes to other peoples minds.  Yet when they try to move, when they try to rise up and be seen so they are not trodden over, they are put down like dogs because door mats are not supposed to complain.  They are not supposed to argue or get the respect they deserve because they have prostrated themselves into that position at the beginning. And they only did it to show respect for those above them.

To this I say: Stand up.  No one person, no matter their income, no matter their social standing, or lack there of, their religious beliefs, or political positions are above any other person.  Just because I can't do mental math very well, or spell for anything, does not mean that I am any less than a human being than the President or Thomas Edison. It just means that I am a person just like them with a different calling in life.  Just because I never spoke up about things that irritated me, or my true feelings, doesn't mean that when I can no longer hold my tongue because the situation has gone too far that I should be put down like a dog and punished for not being the good little door mat I prostrated myself to be.

What it really means is that I am a human being, and I am an equal to you and any one else reading this.  It means that I am entitled to my opinion and my thoughts and my beliefs, and I am not going to lay down and take it any longer- because shit stinks.  It means that any one who does voice their opinion, or their thoughts or their grievances should be respected just like they respect the person they are speaking to.  And if the person doesn't respect their audience they still SHOULD be given respect, because as a human they deserve a bit, and if they have a valid point then a bit more, and if they do everything they can to show you the validity of their point with out using personal opinions as fact then they deserve even more of your respect.  And if you, the one they are speaking to are on your own pedestal and you don't see a glow about you, or you notice that no one looks your direction then listen to the one speaking to you.  Listen, because your social life really does depend on how you treat that person, and if you want to glow, even just a little bit, maybe you'll take what they say with a grain of salt and remember what Uncle Ben said.

Get Over Yourselves. Damnit.

Ii do not own Borderlands or anything to do with it. I bought the game, I own that, but yeah, had to disclaimer.

I am sooo tired. I am super-duper-retardedly stupid tired of editing.   We, as American's in our wonderful so-called society, edits EVERYTHING.  EVERYTHING!!! I mean EVERYTHING.

So I am ranting about an a really great game that just came out, Borderlands 2 and the the in store graphics are EDITED!

Here is the image UNEDITED, the way nature and the artist wanted it to be (notice the two hands symbolizing the fact that this is the second game and NOT the first.)

And in the store it has NO hands, just the-- ugg the graphic looks sooo bad, (or look for yourself, it's at all major department stores that sell baby clothes next to the grocery isles, I went to take a picture and was denied.)

Now why I am ranting about this, is for the same reason that I want to rip stupid parents tongues out through their eye sockets when they complain about a board game called SmartAss (you know like the donkey, it even has a giant picuture of an ass on it.) and these upity parents say that it's vulger and shouldn't be sold anywhere where kids can see it.  The game is rated for like 12 years plus...

I mean really people.  WAKE up.  I know I cannot be the only human being left on the planet that believes that if you shelter children they are too soft to make ANY kind of life choice. And I'm not even talking about the difficult ones, just - what color of socks are they going to wear, kind of choices.

More ranting later, and again I apologize I could not get a shot of the edited picture.  Because you know, it's soo wrong. ahem.

Road Rage!

... and for once not toward other drivers.

*****UPDATE  9/20/12*****

Okay so this made me laugh.  On my way into work this morning they (they being VDOT) said that all of the construction would be postponed because of the horrible conditions of last week.  We are talking 6,7,8 hour back ups in three days.  AWFUL horrible terrible traffic jams.  And they still don't consider the bridge (not bridge tunnel) a 'main route across the bay.  I truly hope that the officials of this area learned a valuable lesson~at the expense of all of those people who where trapped in traffic for like all day.  I mean people were calling in 'stuck in traffic' to work, because by the time the traffic started to move- their shift was over. I luckily was not one of those poor saps, but still.  What did the construction crews and highway officials think would have happened?

I am still laughing about this, and will be until they announce their next BRILLIANT plan for our roads.

Our roads are bad, like tire busting bad, and I am talking major highways.  So logically road work is in order.  Welll, the lovely common wealth that I so happen to reside in has decided to work on every major highway, by way and surface street at once, with multiple construction zones with in a 10 mile stretch, some of which forcing drivers to drive in the shoulder.  They are intelligent enough to do almost all of their work at night... when I have to drive through it.

So that doesn't sound too terrible right? Really it's not, but what is, is when the area in which I live is like the WORST, I mean WORST when it comes to car accidents.  We have at least 4 a day- four that slows down one highway or another. So add this with the construction, and some nights I don't get to drive, I get to inch down the road- I could probably walk the 40 miles home faster.  No kidding.

Now let's add another layer to this fun filled driving nightmare. There are only three ways between the two major metro areas, two are tunnels and one is a draw bridge.  The tunnels get backed up, one direction or another, at least once a day- and the bridge goes up at least once a day, if not twice- during rush hours.  So in the Department of Transportation's infinite wisdom they are closing down one direction of one of the major tunnels for three weekends in a row and one direction of the draw bridge for the same amount of time leaving ONE way for me and the rest of the cracker jack drivers to get to work.  ONE WAY.  With three ways, I am lucky to not get slowed down, or have to find an alternate route- NOW they are leaving NO alternate and forcing every one through a very tiny funnel - OUT of my way mind you - during the WEEKENDS. When everyone is driving to go out, to go to the beach while the weather is still nice, to shop, to take the kids to sports, and concerts and all the other stuff we have to do around here- which is a lot, and which is scattered across like 7 cities that makes up two metro areas.

This makes me want to cry.

EEEEEE New Game!!!

Okay, really, not new but new to me.  Persona 4 Arena on PS3!  I has it because of amazing budgeting and it is gooooood.

Check it out! Youtube it if you have to, and if you're not a fan of Shin Megami Tensei I pity you and your soul.

Also I found a new veggie that was cooked for me and I ate, well again not new per se but you know - Fried asparagus is like AMAZING. (and it took me five times to spell it close enough to get spell check to actually agree that I was looking for the word asparagus and not supergrass.)

Another note about games:

Really this is a note to game developers, and publishers-- PLEASE if you put a 'manual in the case, make it complete! Don't put in half of the stuff you see on the screen, and leave out the important parts!!!

If I hear ... ONE MORE TIME!

If I hear "I need an educational toy for a two month old." ONE MORE TIME, I am going to rip the askers throat out and feed it to them.  EVERYTHING is educational at that age, and kids need time to be kids.  They learn WHILE they play.

Yes, I sound evil, and very angry but I am.  I *loath* willful ignorance and stupidity, and believing A TOY will educate your child really gets my knickers in a knot.  PARENTS educate, kids learn by mimicking.  By watching what their care takers do, not from a brightly colored flashing ball toy that does everything for the poor child, short of pushing a very simple to push button.  I could rant on and on about this, and I am pretty sure others have, so I'll leave it alone.  But again, people think.  Friends of people with kids THINK.  Human interaction trumps a 'educational toy' ANY DAY.

On a happier note, one that isn't ranting and raving and being otherwise pissy-

I am a gamer.

Having said this, three very amazing games are coming out in a very short amount of time.

Dishonored

Assassins Creed III

Assassins Creed Liberation for PS Vita.

My head is going to explode. Like seriously explode.  And they all are around-ish my birthday :D :D :D The video game gods LOVE me!

While I rot my brain on eye-hand and critical thinking exorcizes I am also trying to learn Binary Trading.  I haven't got the money up to fund an account yet, but I am doing pretty good watching trends and practicing.  I will keep updating how I do.  Right now I am writing over at Mylot (it's a great place to converse and earn at the same time, I will do a whole write up on it later. but for now join me, and help me earn!)  I am also Mturking my butt off and Clickworkering because I am trying to earn the $100 I need for Any Option, so that I can start binary trading and maybe, just maybe get ahead.  OR get stable enough so that I don't have to be so scared IF my seasonal job goes by by.  OH By the way Clickworker is an affiliate site too. For every person you get to sign up, it's $5 bucks. :D

Very soon I will do a complete write up of every site I mentioned too.

Okay, So I'm a Bit Off

... But that doesn't mean I'm not angry anyway.

First thing is first, HI! I'm trying this whole blogging thing again, and hopefully I can keep up with it, hopefully. But that is not why I post, nor why I am angry.

http://www.change.org/petitions/us-cpsc-cease-magnet-prohibition

US CPSC: Cease Magnet Prohibition! Sign Me
BUCKYBALLS!! I want them back on our shelves.  I want them to be sold, like any other 'adult marketed desk toy' I WANT MY BALLS.

A little back story: I work in a place that SOLD them.  (Yes this is in the past tense and I am about a month behind this whole breaking news story, but life gets in the way of internet ranting.) And we were told they were being PULLED off the market, by the FEDS.  HOWEVER, it was a voluntary pull because everything is still in litigation.  Nothing has been finalized, Maxfield and Oberton is fighting back.  As they should.

This is not an issue of a manufacturer trying to harm consumers, it is an issue that we, Americans, can't read instructions or properly protect our children.  Or for that matter teach them how to read.  The warning labels are clearly defined and if the warning labels weren't enough (you know all THREE of them on the outside of the package) then the fact that the resellers had to warn people of their hazards or they couldn't sell them.  IF that still wasn't enough- then we have no common sense. NONE.  WHY in the living seven realms of hell would you give your small child SMALL objects of any kind?!

We keep all other small parted things away from small kids who swallow things, so what's so special about Buckyballs that parents just had to give them to their 5 year olds?  Come on. THINK PEOPLE!

And sign this petition - http://www.change.org/petitions/us-cpsc-cease-magnet-prohibition - save a corporation that has done nothing wrong, from people who can't seem to do anything right.

OH yeah, if you want to look at the actual litigation and crap and legal stuff then look here.
